A BUCÓLICA X DE VIRGÍLIO ENTRE O AMOR BUCÓLICO E O ELEGÍACO: UMA CRÍTICA EPICURISTA DO AMOR DESMEDIDO
Esse artigo é uma análise da Bucólica X feita à luz do debate literário acerca dos gêneros poéticos (écloga e elegia), e também à luz da filiação filosófica de Virgílio (à Escola de Epicuro), pretendendo mostrar como, por meio da referência ao poeta Galo, que fora o introdutor da elegia em Roma, Virgílio contrapõe na Bucólica X o amor bucólico ao amor elegíaco, tecendo uma crítica a este, que consiste em apresentá-lo como desmedido. Daí, este trabalho pretende relacionar a crítica virgiliana à desmesura do amor elegíaco com o cálculo do prazer exposto por Epicuro na Carta a Meneceu, além de apresentar uma tradução da Bucólica X.

Abstract:
This paper is an analysis of Bucolic X made in the light of the literary debate about poetic genres (eclogue and elegy), and also in the light of Virgil's philosophical affiliation (to the School of Epicurus), intending to show how, through reference to the poet Galo, who was the introducer of the elegy in Rome, Virgil contrasts in Bucolic X the bucolic love with the elegiac love, criticizing it, which consists in presenting it as inordinate. Hence, this work intends to relate Virgil's criticism to the disproportionate nature of elegiac love with the
calculation of pleasure exposed by Epicurus in his Letter to Meneceu, in addition to presenting a translation of Bucolic X.
