A BR 158 E AS TRANSFORMAÇÕES DO CERRADO NO VALE DO ARAGUAIA MATO-GROSSENSE
O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar os resultados parciais de um estudo que busca demonstrar algumas transformações no Cerrado Brasileiro, as quais incluem o quase desaparecimento desse bioma, que dá seu lugar ao agronegócio, especificamente, na região do Vale do Araguaia em Mato Grosso, e apresentar aspectos gerais da rodovia BR 158 que têm influência socioeconômica numa região que, durante determinado período histórico, foi marcada por políticas econômicas agroexportadoras, descasos socioambientais, assim como a segregação espacial. Para isso, trará um breve histórico da construção da citada rodovia, em seu trecho mato-grossense, ao mesmo tempo em que avaliará sua influência na economia da região. A metodologia utilizada é a quantitativa, ancorando-se em pesquisa bibliográfico-documental. Partiu-se, pois, da hipótese de que as políticas agroexportadoras têm grande preocupação com o capital e deixam de lado o social e o ambiental, construindo uma dinâmica própria em regiões carentes de desenvolvimento. Na conclusão do artigo, nota-se que a devastação do cerrado, no Estado, trouxe um considerável desarranjo social, pela falta de planejamento e pela velocidade com que aconteceu, e isso ainda é motivo de conflitos, nos dias atuais.

Abstract:
The objective of this article is to present the partial results of a study that seeks to demonstrate some transformations in the Brazilian cerrado, these transformations include the almost disappearance of this biome that gives way to agribusiness, specifically in the Araguaia Valley region in Mato Grosso, and to present general aspects of the BR 158 highway that has socioeconomic influence in a region that, during a certain historical period, was marked by agro-export economic policies, socio-environmental neglect, as well as spatial segregation. For that, it will bring a brief history of the construction of the aforementioned highway, in its stretch of Mato Grosso, while assessing its influence on the region's economy. The methodology used, the quantitative, will be anchored in bibliographic and documentary research. Therefore, we started from the hypothesis that agro-export policies are very concerned with capital and leave aside the social and the environmental, building their own dynamics in regions in need of development. At the conclusion of the article, it is noted that the devastation of the cerrado in the State brought social disarray due to the lack of planning and the speed that happened and this is still a cause for conflicts today.
