A BIBLIOTECA NAS ESCOLAS PÚBLICAS DE PORTO VELHO (RO): CONDIÇÕES DE INSTALAÇÃO E FUNCIONAMENTO
Este trabalho explicita os resultados
da pesquisa realizada que teve como objetivo
mapear as escolas municipais da zona
urbana de Porto Velho/RO que comtemplam
a biblioteca em seu espaço, tomando como
referência o último Censo Escolar. Em seguida
fomos a campo para verificar as condições de
instalação e funcionamento de cada biblioteca
escolar. Com esse levantamento constatamos
que das quarenta e sete (47) escolas
municipais da região urbana, vinte (20) escolas
declararam ter biblioteca escolar. Esse número
sofreu variações, uma vez que visitadas essas
escolas e feita a coleta de dados, observamos
apenas doze (12) escolas com biblioteca,
sendo seis (06) com BE em funcionamento
e seis (06) desativadas, por falta de recursos
humanos. Além disso, foram detectados outros
problemas como, por exemplo, a estrutura
física inadequada, aas condições de instalação
e funcionamento precárias e o acervo que é
pouco diversificado, assim como também a
ausência de acessibilidade para portadores de
necessidades especiais. Para fundamentar e
alcançar ainda mais conhecimento em relação
a temática abordada nos respaldamos nos
estudos de Teixeira (2002), Milanesi (1994),
Fragoso (2006), Campello (2012), dentre outros.
Subsidiam, ainda, a legislação brasileira, como
a Lei n° 12.244/2010, e diretrizes nacionais e
internacionais, como por exemplo, o Manifesto
IFLA/Unesco, documento que dispõe sobre a
estruturação física e de acervos para a BE. Essa
pesquisa vem contribuir para a compreensão do
papel da biblioteca escolar e como o município
vem desenvolvendo as questões relativas à sua
estruturação nas escolas

Abstract:
This paper explores the results of
the research carried out to map the municipal
schools of the urban area of Porto Velho / RO
that contemplate the library in their space,
taking as reference the last School Census.
Then we went to the field to check the conditions
of installation and operation of each school
library. With this survey we verified that of the
forty-seven (47) municipal schools of the urban
region, twenty (20) schools declared to have a school library. This number changed since we visited these schools and collected data,
we observed only twelve (12) schools with a library, six (06) with BE in operation and
six (06) deactivated due to lack of human resources. In addition, other problems were
detected, such as inadequate physical structure, precarious conditions of installation
and operation, poorly diversified collection, as well as lack of accessibility for people
with special needs. In order to base and reach even more knowledge regarding the
subject matter, we have supported the studies of Teixeira (2002), Milanesi (1994),
Fragoso (2006), Campello (2012) and others. They also subsidized Brazilian legislation,
such as Law 12244/2010, and national and international guidelines, such as the IFLA /
Unesco Manifesto, which provides for the physical structure and collection of assets for
BE. This research contributes to the understanding of the role of the school library and
how the municipality has been developing issues related to its structuring in schools
