A ATUAÇÃO DA BIBLIOTECA ESPECIALIZADA NA DIVULGAÇÃO E DEMOCRATIZAÇÃO DA CIÊNCIA
Este capítulo tem a finalidade
de apresentar as ações de democratização
do acesso à informação científica em
Neurociências, que são realizadas pelo
Instituto do Cérebro da Universidade Federal
do Rio Grande do Norte com o auxílio da
Biblioteca Setorial “Árvore do Conhecimento”.
Essas ações incluem a promoção de eventos
científicos e de extensão, além da gestão da
produção científica dos pesquisadores da
unidade acadêmica. Nos eventos, a Biblioteca
atua na organização e na divulgação. Em
relação à produção científica, estabeleceramse
algumas estratégias para o povoamento da
coleção do Instituto no repositório institucional
da universidade. Por meios dessas ações de
divulgação científica a biblioteca proporciona
ao cidadão o desenvolvimento do pensamento
reflexivo e uma visão mais abrangente sobre o
mundo.

Abstract:
This article aims to present
the actions of democratization of access to
scientific information in Neurosciences, which
are carried out by the Brain Institute of the
Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte with
the help of the Library “Tree of Knowledge”.
These actions include the promotion of
scientific and extension events, as well as the
management of the scientific production of the
researchers of the academic unit. The Library
acts in organization and dissemination of the
university extension projects. In relation to the
scientific production, some strategies were
established for the collection of the Institute’s
collection in the institutional repository of the
university. By means of these actions of scientific
dissemination the library provides to the citizen
the development of the reflective thought and a
more comprehensive vision on the world.
