Os edifícios religiosos são considerados uma referência de grande importância para o funcionamento, história e significado das cidades. Na cidade de Tepic existem edifícios arquitetônicos do gênero que são valorizados como monumentos históricos, tornando-se expoentes da Arquitetura que deve ser preservada. O Santuário de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe insere-se neste conjunto de edifícios, sendo também o marco em torno do qual se constitui o bairro denominado Santuário, pelo que existe um sector da população que o integra e que tem cultura e tradições definidas. No entanto, até ao momento, não existem informações sobre os significados dos elementos que constituem este edifício. Por isso, este artigo sintetiza os resultados das pesquisas realizadas e que permitiram conhecer em profundidade os aspectos artísticos, históricos e arquitetônicos deste edifício-igreja.

Abstract:
Religious buildings are considered a reference of great importance for the functioning, history and significance of cities. In the city of Tepic there are architectural buildings of this genre that are valued as historical monuments, becoming exponents of the Architecture that must be preserved. The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Guadalupe is within this group of buildings, being also the landmark around which the neighborhood called the Sanctuary is constituted, so there is a sector of the population that integrates it and that has defined cultural and traditions. However, at present, there is no information on the meanings of the elements that make up this building. For this reason, this article summarizes the results of the research carried out and that allowed to know in depth the artistic, historical and architectural aspects of this Church-Building.
