Abstract: Learning processes today are increasingly diversifying and transforming how learning occurs in schools. By using active methodologies in Nursing Technician education, students experience moments that simulate real-life situations, allowing them to perceive the importance of developing technical and non-technical skills for safer and more confident client care. Students who learn actively develop the attitude and mental capacity to grasp, process, and store what they have learned, and more complex learning is incorporated into their cognitive structure. From this perspective, the present study sought to verify the contribution of problem-based learning, as an active methodology, in Nursing Technician education. This is a descriptive study, of the bibliographic review type, seeking theoretical references in the Scielo (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and Google Scholar databases, totaling twenty works researched and analyzed. The keywords "Problem-Based Learning," "active methodology," and "Nursing Technician" were used as descriptors. According to the findings, problem-based learning is an active learning method in which the teacher uses a problem model to encourage students to work within a given context, attempting to solve it. In this way, the student takes responsibility for their own learning, acquires new knowledge, stores it cognitively, and applies it to their life. Therefore, it can be inferred that this methodology contributes to meaningful learning for the student, as it sparks their interest in studies.
