A AGRICULTURA FAMILIAR E ALIMENTAÇÃO ESCOLAR: DADOS SOBRE A APLICAÇÃO DE RECURSOS NO MUNICÍPIO DE MUNDO NOVO - MS NOS ANOS DE 2023 E 2024

• Abstract: This chapter is the result of research by the Institutional Program of Scientific Initiation Scholarships (Pibic/CNPq), linked to the Agronomy course, of the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS), University Unit of Mundo Novo, whose objective was to understand the relations between family farming and school feeding and whether the Municipality of Mundo Novo MS complies with Law No. 11.947/2009, which determines the minimum application of 30% of the resources of the National School Feeding Program (PNAE) in the purchase of food from family farming. It is a bibliographic and documentary research, with quantitative analysis, with a time frame of the years 2023 and 2024. The survey found that the Municipality of Mundo Novo MS did not comply with the legislation in the years investigated, as it invested 6.15% in 2023 and, even with expansion, in 2024 the application was 14.93%, not reaching half of the required percentage. The research reinforces the role of school feeding as an essential public policy for the promotion of food security, child health and the strengthening of family farming and sustainable regional development.
