Abstract: The University is a social environment that brings in its characteristics, the social insertion that welcomes society to foster scientific study and critical citizen awareness. From this perspective, the university approaches the population through its extension activities that create an organized environment, reverberating hope and change for society. In this bias, it is necessary to understand the contributory relationship between university extension and democratic school management, therefore, academics need to feel inserted in the community to understand its difficulties and be able to contribute to the promotion of the subject in the act of thinking, to communicate and act in a way that helps those in the school environment to have more conscious and collective attitudes. Furthermore, the methodology we will use is based on a bibliographic review with some authors: Berth (2018), Militão; Militão (2019) Esquinsani (2021), Freitas (2020) among other authors, using a qualitative approach by Bauer & Gaskell (2008). In this scenario, we seek to know how university extension contributes to promoting school democratization. The results show that when university extension approaches the school community with training and information, it encourages democratic management with the participation, autonomy and collaboration of the School Council. To balance these pillars of school participation, the legal provisions that deal with democratic management are created to support the actions that subjects must and can carry out.
