A AÇÃO CIVIL PÚBLICA E A PROTEÇÃO À HONRA E À DIGNIDADE DE GRUPOS RACIAIS, ÉTNICOS E RELIGIOSOS
O Ministério Público (MP) é instituição permanente, essencial à função jurisdicional do Estado, incumbindo-lhe a defesa da ordem jurídica, do regime democrático e dos interesses sociais e individuais indisponíveis. Entre os instrumentos que podem ser utilizados pelo MP para essa defesa, está a Ação Civil Pública. A ação civil pública (ACP) é o instrumento processual adequado para reprimir ou impedir danos à honra e à dignidade de grupos raciais, étnicos ou religiosos. Por meio da jurisprudência, buscamos entender se essa ação está sendo efetivamente utilizada pelo MP.

Abstract:
The Public Prosecution is a permanent institution, essential to the jurisdictional function of the State, and it is its duty to defend the juridical order, the democratic regime and the inalienable social and individual interests. Among the instruments that Public Prosecution can use, there is Public Civil Suit. Public Civil Suit hall be ruled by the provisions of this law, without prejudice to the people’s legal action, the actions of responsibility for moral damage and property caused for the dignity of racial, ethnic and religious groups.
