Abstract: Monocular vision, a condition where an individual has functional vision in only one eye, can significantly impact a person's school and social life. In the school environment, students with monocular vision may face challenges related to depth perception and motor coordination, which can make activities requiring precision, such as physical education or laboratory experiments, difficult. Additionally, eye fatigue can be a concern, as the healthy eye works harder to compensate for the lack of binocular vision. Adapting educational materials and providing strategic seating in the classroom are measures that can assist these students. Socially, monocular vision can influence interaction with the environment and with other people. Difficulty in judging distances can affect participation in sports or recreational activities, while the need to explain the condition to peers may lead to feelings of difference or exclusion. However, with adequate support and awareness, people with monocular vision can develop effective strategies to overcome these challenges, promoting full integration both in school and social settings.
