Abstract: This article analyzes the spatial and productive transformations of the Hacienda Santa Águeda, whose remnants are located in Tlaxcala, Mexico, from its origin in 1610 to 2025. Through the historical-geographical materialism approach proposed by critical geography, it examines how capital constantly requires and produces new spatial configurations for its reproduction. The qualitative research was based on document review and direct observation. The results represent a diachronic timeline where the hacienda evolved from an agricultural unit to a modern dairy industry during the Porfiriato. After its post-revolution decline and the dismantling of its estate, a reconversion towards tourism began in the late 20th century, a process that culminated in 2014 with its transformation into Val’Quirico, a residential, tourist, and commercial enclave that simulates a Tuscan village. It is concluded that this metamorphosis into a hyperreal space of exclusive consumption exemplifies the capitalist logic of modifying territory, subsuming its history, and generating new geographies of fragmentation and gentrification.
