Abstract: The article reviews the literature on vaccines against dengue serotypes, a viral disease transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, with millions of symptomatic cases annually, mainly in Asia. Vaccination is crucial to control dengue, with efforts focused on tetravalent vaccines. The only licensed vaccine, CYD-TDV, has limited efficacy and restricted use. The candidate vaccine TAK-003 has shown promise, as well as DPIV in development. The review analyzed articles published in the last three years in various databases, resulting in 15 relevant articles after exclusions. Studies highlighted the efficacy of TAK-003 in children and adults, its safety, and immunogenicity. CYD-TDV demonstrated efficacy in Colombia, suggesting its potential in endemic areas. Pre-vaccination screening strategies are considered to optimize vaccine use. The effective implementation of vaccines, along with control strategies, can significantly reduce the global impact of dengue.
