USE OF MEDICATIONS AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FIRST KIT: CASE OF PARENTS FROM AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION IN ICA, PERU

El uso de medicamentos sin un control adecuado atenta contra la salud y calidad de vida de la población; también, es necesario tener un lugar seguro donde almacenar los medicamentos y desechar de forma adecuada cualquier remanente de los medicamentos. El trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el uso de medicamentos y el botiquín familiar y comparar la correlación entre el uso del medicamento según las dimensiones: administración del medicamento, objetivo terapéutico del medicamento, seguridad del medicamento y conservación del medicamento con el manejo del botiquín familiar. La muestra está conformada por 291 padres de familia de una Institución Educativa de la provincia de Ica en el año 2023. El nivel de investigación es descriptivo-correlacional, el diseño es no experimental, de corte transversal y para la realización de este estudio se utilizó la técnica de la encuesta, así mismo se utilizó el instrumento del cuestionario. El cuestionario aplicado a los padres de familia consta de 20 ítems que se administró a los mismos en un solo momento. Se ha demostrado que el coeficiente de correlación entre las variables uso de medicamentos y el botiquín familiar, es de r Pearson=0.602 a un nivel de significancia del 0.05; y que existe relación significativa referente a las variables de estudio. Esto destaca la necesidad de promover la educación sanitaria y adquisición de los conocimientos sobre el uso de medicamentos y conservación del botiquín familiar y las revisiones periódicas de éstos para disminuir los posibles efectos adversos de los medicamentos.

    The use of medications without adequate control threatens the health and quality of life of the population; Also, it is necessary to have a safe place to store medications and properly dispose of any remaining medications. The objective of the research work was to determine the relationship between the use of medications and the family medicine cabinet and to compare the correlation between the use of the medication according to the dimensions: administration of the medication, therapeutic objective of the medication, safety of the medication and conservation of the medication with the management of the family medicine cabinet. The sample is made up of 291 parents from an Educational Institution in the province of Ica in the year 2023. The level of research is descriptive-correlational, the design is non-experimental, cross-sectional and to carry out this study, the survey technique, likewise the questionnaire instrument was used. The questionnaire applied to parents consists of 20 items that were administered to them at a single time. It has been shown that the correlation coefficient between the variables use of medications and the family medicine cabinet is r Pearson=0.602 at a significance level of 0.05; and that there is a significant relationship regarding the study variables. This highlights the need to promote health education and acquisition of knowledge about the use of medications and conservation of the family medicine cabinet and periodic reviews of these to reduce the possible adverse effects of medications.
