UM CONVITE À LEITURA DE MAYOMBE, ROMANCE ANGOLANO, EM SALA DE AULA

Levando-se em conta a importância de reconstruir uma imagem positiva, de reconhecimento e de valorização da história, cultura e identidade de descendentes dos povos africanos, além de procurar combater uma postura discriminatória e racista que particularmente ainda atinge os negros no Brasil,  procuramos, nesse trabalho, dirigir o nosso olhar para o romance Mayombe, do escritor angolano Pepetela, a fim de oferecer uma visão mais completa e, ao mesmo tempo, mais profunda dos temas e motivos literários representados nessa obra, tanto significativa para os contextos curriculares escolares quanto relevante para a formação de professores e alunos.

  • Abstract: Taking into account the importance of rebuilding a positive image, recognition, and appreciation of the history, culture, and identity of the descendants of African peoples, in addition to seeking to combat discriminatory and racist attitudes that still particularly affect black people in Brazil, we seek, in this work, to turn our attention to the novel Mayombe, by Angolan writer Pepetela, in order to offer a more complete and, at the same time, deeper view of the themes and literary motifs represented in this work, which is both significant for school curricula and relevant for the training of teachers and students.
