TOURIST IMAGINARY AND DESTINY IMAGE. CASE OF STUDY: LA PAZ, BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR, MEXICO
El turismo es una actividad importante en la economía del estado de Baja California Sur, especialmente en la ciudad de La Paz. En los últimos años, el impulso del financiamiento relacionado con el turismo que ha experimentado el puerto de La Paz le da la oportunidad de recibir turistas tanto nacionales como extranjeros. Es por ello que la imagen del destino de la ciudad de La Paz es objeto de estudio de este trabajo, ya que juega un papel importante en la competitividad de dicho destino turístico.
En concreto, la investigación analiza documentos sobre el imaginario y su relación con la imagen del destino, con el fin de encontrar elementos de apoyo para la ciudad de La Paz. La metodología seguida para el desarrollo de esta investigación considera una revisión literaria.
Los resultados de este trabajo buscan contribuir a comprender el área del turismo a partir del estudio de las ciencias sociales, con el fin de obtener información que permita plantear una propuesta que ayude a continuar con el desarrollo de proyectos en beneficio de los turistas y imagen destino de sitios turísticos como la ciudad de La Paz.

Abstract:
Tourism is an important activity in the economy of the state of Baja California Sur, most especially in La Paz city. In recent years, the boost in tourism related funding seen by the port of La Paz has placed it as one of the preferred destinations for both domestic and foreign tourists. Thus, due to its relevance, the image of this destination shall be the object of study for this research project, as it plays an important role in the competitiveness of that tourist destination.
In specifics, the research analyze documents about the imaginary and it's relation with destiny image, in order to find support elements for La Paz city. The methodology followed for the development of this research consider a literary review.
The results of this work look for contributing to understand the area of tourism based on the study of social sciences, in order to obtain information that permit purpose of putting forth a proposal that helps the continuing of the development of projects for the benefit of tourists and destiny image of touristic sites like La Paz city.
