SIMULACIÓN DEL DESEMPEÑO DE LOS ESTUDIANTES EN EL PLAN DE ESTUDIO DE LA CARRERA DE INGENIERÍA CIVIL ELÉCTRICA
El avance y desempeño de los estudiantes en un Plan de Estudios de una Carrera no solo depende del rendimiento de los estudiantes sino que además de múltiples factores entre los cuales se pueden mencionar; la estructura del plan, prerrequisitos, reglamentos, aprobación, ofrecimiento de asignaturas por parte de docencia, entre otras. Con el objetivo de poder evaluar distintas acciones sobre el plan de estudios, su gestión y desempeño de los estudiantes, este trabajo desarrolló un modelo de simulación que representa el comportamiento del avance de los estudiantes considerando un conjunto de datos históricos y un modelo de simulación basado en Montecarlo. Como indicadores del desempeño, se consideró el porcentaje de egresados, tiempo promedio para el egreso, eficiencia y promedio de egresados oportunamente. Con este modelo se logró evaluar distintas acciones cuyos resultados dan cuenta de mejoras significativas en los indicadores de salida respecto de los indicadores actuales.

Abstract:
The progress and performance of students in a Career Study Plan not only depends on the performance of the students but also on multiple factors among which can be mentioned; the structure of the plan, prerequisites, regulations, approval, offer of subjects by teachers, among others. With the objective of being able to evaluate different actions on the study plan, its management and student performance, this work developed a simulation model that represents the behavior of student progress considering a set of historical data and a simulation model based on in Monte Carlo method. As performance indicators, the percentage of graduates, average time to graduate, efficiency, and average number of graduates on time were considered. With this model it was possible to evaluate different actions whose results show significant improvements in the output indicators compared to the current indicators.
