Abstract: With technological advancements in today's globalized world, the integration of tools within this paradigm in the school environment has become an important aid to knowledge acquisition. The theoretical premise of this research is to demonstrate how virtual fieldwork can positively contribute to the teaching-learning process in the subject of Geography. The main objective of this work was to conduct a systematic review of the academic literature on the use of virtual fieldwork in Geography teaching, analyzing its contributions, limitations, and potential. To this end, definitions of Information and Communication Technology and Digital Information and Communication Technology were established, as well as their integration into the classroom. The methodological procedure included the analysis of articles and publications on the main pedagogical strategies used in teaching and the contributions of ICTs, through searches using keywords and Boolean operators in databases and academic repositories. This research highlighted the qualification of the main pedagogical strategies used in teaching and the contributions of ICTs. Furthermore, the main methodologies and technological resources used in virtual fieldwork were also demonstrated, in addition to the challenges and limitations observed. This study identified the possibilities of incorporating digital technologies as a way to enhance teaching methods in the teaching-learning process.
