Rethinking the curriculum for the new High School: The construction of the Education and Human Rights discipline at Colégio Edvaldo Brandão Correia

The article is part of an initial proposal for a dissertation in the Professional Master's program in History Teaching (ProfHistória) linked to the Universidade Estafual da Bahia (UNEB). The objective is to discuss the possibilities of rethinking the History Teaching curriculum, mainly with regard to Human Rights Education. For analysis, the Human Rights Education Booklet (2006) produced by the State is used as an important documentary source. I begin the analyzes contextualizing and problematizing: 1) contextualizing the reader about the Colégio Estadual Edvaldo Brandão Correia (CEEBC) having been chosen as a pilot school for the implementation of the New Secondary Education (NEM); 2) recognizing and problematizing my condition as a socially white man; 3) I analyze the Human Rights Education Section, 2013) and 4) I propose to redo the Human Rights Education section in dialogue with the decolonial perspective. Dialoguing with authors such as TORRES (2019); GROSFOGUEL (2019); MIGNOLO (2008).
