Abstract: Post-mastectomy breast reconstruction has evolved significantly in recent decades, becoming an essential component in breast cancer treatment. This literature review article aims to discuss the main clinical, technical, and psychological aspects related to breast reconstruction, highlighting its indications, surgical techniques, complications, and impacts on patients' quality of life. The reviewed literature shows that, in addition to the aesthetic benefits, reconstruction contributes to women's emotional and social recovery. Therefore, continuous improvement of surgical techniques is necessary to address this issue.
