Economic study through simple indicators, of sheep fattening in an integral farm in the state of Puebla, Mexico
El objetivo de este estudio fue conocer la rentabilidad económica de una granja integral ubicada
en el estado de Puebla, México. Se utilizaron 1000 ovinos de 20.0 kg de peso vivo en promedio,
híbridos (F1), con 2 a 3 meses de edad. Los animales fueron finalizados con una dieta alta en
granos (90 %) y forraje (10 %). Se analizaron los indicadores económicos para conocer la
rentabilidad, la inversión requerida fue de $ 1,517,295.40 por engorda, que incluyó; costos fijos y
variables, la depreciación se calculó en $ 126,522.00 anual y por engorda $ 23,430.00.El ingreso
total por concepto de venta de 995 ovinos de 40 kg de peso vivo, fue de $ 1,830,800.00. El
ingreso neto por peso invertido fue de 1.16 la tasa de retorno contable por engorda fue de 15.8 %
y la tasa neta de retorno por año fue de 85.32 %. Se concluye que la engorda de ovinos en una
granja integral, bajo las condiciones de este experimento tiene una rentabilidad anual, mayor al
80 %.

Abstract:
The objective of this study was to know the economic profitability of an integral farm located in the state of Puebla, Mexico. 1000 sheep of 20.0 kg live weight on average, hybrids (F1), with 2 to 3 months of age were used. The animals were finished with a diet high in grains (90 %) and forage (10 %). The economic indicators were analyzed to know the profitability, the investment required was $1,517,295.40for fattening, which included; fixed and variable costs, depreciation was calculated in $126,522.00annualand $23,430.00 for fattening. The total income from the sale of 995 sheep of 40 kg live weight was $1,830,800.00. The net income per invested peso was 1.16, the accounting rate of return per fattening was 15.8 % and the net rate of return per year was 85.32 %. It is concluded that the fattening of sheep in an integral farm, under the conditions of this experiment, has an annual profitability of more than 80 %.
