A água representa um dos recursos naturais mais importantes para a manutenção da vida, desenvolvimento econômico e equilíbrio ambiental. A crescente urbanização, expansão agrícola e descarte inadequado de resíduos têm intensificado os processos de degradação hídrica, comprometendo a qualidade da água destinada ao abastecimento humano e ao lazer. O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a qualidade físico-química e microbiológica das águas residenciais, do rio urbano e de três lagoas de lazer município de Guariba-SP no ano de 2024. Foram analisados parâmetros como: pH, cloro livre, oxigênio consumido, alcalinidade total, cor, dureza total, cloretos, ferro e amônia, além da presença de coliformes termotolerantes e Escherichia coli. Os resultados indicaram que as águas residenciais apresentaram conformidade com os padrões de potabilidade estabelecidos pela legislação brasileira, evidenciando eficiência do sistema de abastecimento público. Em contrapartida, as amostras provenientes do rio e das lagoas apresentaram elevada contaminação microbiológica, ultrapassando os limites estabelecidos pela Resolução CONAMA nº 357/2005. Os resultados demonstram a necessidade de intensificação das ações de saneamento básico, monitoramento ambiental contínuo e educação ambiental.

  • Abstract: Water represents one of the most important natural resources for sustaining life, economic development, and environmental balance. Increasing urbanization, agricultural expansion, and inadequate waste disposal have intensified water degradation processes, compromising the quality of water intended for human consumption and recreation. This study aimed to evaluate the physicochemical and microbiological quality of residential water, the urban river, and three recreational lagoons in the municipality of Guariba-SP in 2024. Parameters analyzed included: pH, free chlorine, consumed oxygen, total alkalinity, color, total hardness, chlorides, iron, and ammonia, as well as the presence of thermotolerant coliforms and Escherichia coli. The results indicated that residential waters complied with the potability standards established by Brazilian legislation, demonstrating the efficiency of the public water supply system. In contrast, samples from the river and lagoons showed high microbiological contamination, exceeding the limits established by CONAMA Resolution nº 357/2005. The results demonstrate the need to intensify basic sanitation actions, continuous environmental monitoring, and environmental education.
