  Child sexual abuse is a serious public health problem with devastating impacts on children's physical, emotional and psychological development. Forensics plays a crucial role in identifying and documenting evidence of sexual abuse, contributing to the protection of victims and the accountability of perpetrators. This article reviews the current literature on the importance of forensics in cases of sexual abuse in the pediatric population, highlighting the need for early intervention, the role of health professionals and child protection policies.
