Abstract: This paper analyzes artificial intelligence (AI)-based products and services applied in academic libraries, focusing on their operational nexuses and institutional impacts. The qualitative and exploratory research is grounded in a state-of-the-art literature review (2018–2024). Advances in information mediation, process automation, and service personalization are identified, alongside ethical, educational, and structural challenges. The study concludes that AI offers strategic opportunities for innovation in academic libraries, but demands specific literacy, responsible governance, and a reconfiguration of professional competencies.
