Abstract: Developmental dental abnormalities are considered one of the main late sequelae in childhood cancer survivors, resulting from the cytotoxic effect of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, especially in children treated before the age of six. These disorders include hypodontia, microdontia, root anomalies, enamel hypoplasia, and tooth manipulation, which can compromise masticatory function, phonetics, aesthetics, occlusal function, and long-term periodontal health. The prevalence of these anomalies in this group is associated with the type of treatment, radiation dose, exposure time, and the stage of development at the time of therapy. Furthermore, these abnormalities disrupt continuous monitoring, individualized interventions, and a preventive approach aimed at early detection and effective management of the sequelae of these disorders, reinforcing the importance of integration between dental professionals and oncologists.
