O presente estudo trata-se de uma análise do policiamento preventivo como ferramenta de prevenção à criminalidade no estado do Pará. Os estudos sobre criminalidade vêm crescendo bastante nós últimos anos, principalmente diante do aperfeiçoamento das organizações criminosas. Como tal foi preciso identificar como as estratégias de inteligência da polícia militar do Pará são benéficas para o combate da criminalidade. O objetivo geral foi analisar os benefícios das estratégias preventivas no combate à criminalidade no Pará. Como a problemática levantada tem-se: As estratégias de gestão operacional preventiva contribuem para a prevenção da criminalidade? A metodologia adotada foi qualitativa, exploratória e descritiva. Como resultado obtido tem-se que existe uma queda contínua nos índices de criminalidade no estado do Pará, dado principalmente pelas ações da polícia em realizar um mapeamento prévio e direcionar sua atuação às áreas mais críticas do estado.

  • Abstract: This study analyzes preventive policing as a tool for crime prevention in the state of Pará. Studies on crime have grown considerably in recent years, mainly due to the sophistication of criminal organizations. Therefore, it was necessary to identify how the intelligence strategies of the Pará Military Police are beneficial in combating crime. The general objective was to analyze the benefits of preventive strategies in combating crime in Pará. The research question posed was: Do preventive operational management strategies contribute to crime prevention? The methodology adopted was qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive. The results show a continuous decrease in crime rates in the state of Pará, mainly due to police actions in conducting prior mapping and directing their operations to the most critical areas of the state.
