• Abstract:

  Since the dawn of humanity, the production of goods has been an essential activity for the satisfaction of needs, ranging from primary or physiological needs to tertiary or self-actualization needs. Regardless of the type of need, the production process has been necessary to generate goods or services. These increasingly sophisticated and cutting-edge processes have resulted in high-quality production.
  However, even though processes are constantly improving, it is well known that waste generation has been inevitable. If not properly managed, this waste can cause complications, initially for companies, as it is an untapped resource that can compromise their economy, but mainly because it can have an impact on the environment and, therefore, on social welfare.    That is why it is important to make full use of inputs, including waste.
  As a result, it is increasingly common and highly desirable for companies to implement waste management plans that allow them to optimize and make the most of inputs and/or raw materials through the proper management and handling of waste generated during and after the production process, carrying out activities such as recycling, reuse, rental, reduction, and reuse. The objective of this study is to learn about waste management plans in companies in the municipality of Úrsulo Galván, located in the , Veracruz, Mexico. A descriptive, cross-sectional, and mixed methodology is used. The object of study is the various businesses in the aforementioned municipality, and the subjects are the managers and/or employees of those companies. With the data obtained, the objective was achieved and the working hypothesis was evaluated. Significant results are presented regarding the activities of the plan implemented in waste management.
