PERFORMATIVIDADES DIGITALES: RAFAEL LOZANO-HEMMER
En la extensa obra de Rafael Lozano-Hemmer confluyen tres conceptos que serán analizados en este texto. Por un lado, la utilización de la tecnología como herramienta artística conlleva una reconceptualización de esta. La obra de Lozano-Hemmer indaga la resistencia y la incertidumbre en las zonas de indeterminación que provoca la subversión poética del uso de las tecnologías biométricas.
Un segundo aspecto destacable en su obra es la performatividad, la interacción (relacional) del espectador con su obra. Lo performativo de sus piezas artísticas son claves para entender como se forma y se encarna la obra relacional y afectiva con los espectadores. El tercer aspecto que trataremos en el texto será la arquitectura y el espacio público, contextos en los que el artista desarrolla su seria llamada “Arquitecturas relacionales”.
Así pues, a través de estos tres conceptos analizaremos obras como Body Movies (2002) Under Scan (2008), con las que se pretende crear experiencias sociales. Finalmente, las obras de arte de Rafael Lozano-Hemmer crean una serie de relaciones espacio-temporales e interacciones entre participantes y el entorno espacial y arquitectónico, que nos interesa destacar aquí.

Abstract:
Three concepts converge in Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's extensive work, which will be analysed in this text. On the one hand, the use of technology as an artistic tool entails a reconceptualisation of it. Lozano-Hemmer's work investigates the resistance and uncertainty in the zones of indeterminacy provoked by the poetic subversion of the use of biometric technologies.
A second notable aspect of his work is performativity, the (relational) interaction of the spectator with his work. The performativity of his artistic pieces is crucial to understanding how the relational and affective work is formed and embodied within the spectators. The third aspect that we will deal with in the text will be architecture and public space, in which the artist develops his series called "Relational Architectures".
Thus, through these three concepts we will analyse works such as Body Movies (2002) Under Scan (2008), which aim to create social experiences. Finally, Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's artworks create a series of spatio-temporal relationships and interactions between participants and the spatial and architectural environment, which we are interested in highlighting here
