Abstract: The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is a care center for children from 29 days of age to 18 years of age. It arose with the need to treat patients in a specialized way, with this the physiotherapist gains his space and participates in the intervention for the patient's recovery, since hospitalization due to pathologies and illnesses in childhood is recurrent, and establishing a profile found in health centers contributes for better care and admissions standards. This study aims to analyze the profiles of patients admitted to the intensive care unit in the literature with an emphasis on physiotherapy. The present study is an integrative review of the literature. Articles from the online databases LILACS via the Virtual Health Library, MEDLINE via PUBMED, SciELO and PEDro were analyzed, using the descriptors child and hospitalization and intensive care unit. As inclusion criteria, 5 articles were selected, published in the last 10 years. Duplicate, incomplete studies and integrative reviews that did not fit the thematic proposal were excluded. The results of the articles were observed in the vast majority of patterns regarding gender, with male being the most common in hospitalizations, the pathologies varied, but the respiratory system disorders were present in their entirety, including oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation and bed mobilization resources and therapies for patients, who fall within the age range of 1 to 3 years. It is concluded that the profiles presented in the intensive care unit have a pattern mainly regarding gender, age, compared to the pathology, and the presence of the physiotherapist is essential to act in the cases presented.
