• Abstract: This research explores the importance of sustainability in a beverage industry, especially in operations and cost management, and will assess whether sustainable practices can impact operating costs in a way that reduces them. With the aim of analyzing the positive results resulting from the implementation of sustainable practices and verifying the reduction of operating costs, the study starts from the introduction of the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) concept, which is consolidating in the global and Brazilian corporate environment, reflecting a growing commitment to sustainability and responding to pressure from the financial market. The methodology adopted is a qualitative and descriptive approach, in which the data collection procedure includes a questionnaire applied to a professional responsible for the cost department in a beverage factory. The results indicate that ESG practices, such as packaging recycling and the regenerative use of water, result in financial benefits in the medium and long term, especially in reducing waste and energy costs. The study concludes that sustainable practices, in addition to promoting environmental commitment, have the potential to consolidate economic advantages for the company, demonstrating that investments in sustainability can bring positive returns.
