Abstract: Immigration is an old and natural phenomenon, defined as the act of leaving one’s home country in search of better living conditions, family reunification, or as a way to escape conflicts. However, this population movement can occur legally or illegally, depending on the laws of the destination country. Human trafficking, on the other hand, is a complex crime that involves the recruitment, transportation, and exploitation of people, being a modern form of slavery. In addition to sexual exploitation, human trafficking can also involve the removal and marketing of organs, which is extremely risky and expensive. Both phenomena are interconnected and represent serious violations of human rights and the dignity of the people involved.
