Abstract: Cutaneomucosal injuries are frequently present in medical practice. They are defined by a discontinuity in the epithelial lining. They have a wide variety of classifications, such as burns, traumatic injuries and acute and chronic wounds, and can take days to months for complete recovery. Therefore, Aloe Vera presents itself as an effective and economical alternative in clinical practice. Therefore, the objective of this literature review was to analyze the curative effects of using aloe vera in the treatment of cutaneous and mucous lesions that enable faster healing, reducing patient suffering. A search for previous works was carried out on the National Library of Medicine. (PubMed) and Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde(BVS) and a total of 18 scientific articles were included after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria Articles published in the last ten years (2014-2024) were included in the study; in the English language; whose studies were of the controlled clinical trial type. Duplicate articles and articles outside the topic covered were excluded. Through the studies analyzed, it was observed that Aloe Vera has an important effect on accelerating healing and reducing the local inflammatory process. There is evidence that an important factor for this important healing effect occurs due to bioactive components in its gel, and the humidification of the wound, which helps to increase its flexibility. In conclusion, Aloe Vera proved to be an important agent in the treatment of skin wounds, accelerating the healing process.
