• Abstract:

  This paper is about relations between Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina during the military regimes of the 1960s and 1970s. The theme is related to the disagreements involving the three countries in the construction of the Itaipu Binational Hydroelectric Plant between Brazil and Paraguay. Argentina, being downstream from the hydroelectric plant, felt aggrieved. This resulted in disagreements that were only resolved in 1979 with the signing of the Tripartite Agreement. It was necessary to visit the diplomatic archives of the three countries and develop the work by analyzing diplomatic documents. The result is an enrichment of the subject.
