Abstract: This article aims to address the importance of the family in the teaching-learning process from Early Childhood Education in partnership with the school and teachers, which will result in better learning for students throughout basic education. This is a bibliographical research, with a theoretical review of authors on the subject. In short, one of the objectives is to highlight the importance of the relationship between Family and School in the teaching and learning process for the full development of the student, defining their functions and the importance of integrated work for the education of the student and their preparation for the exercise of citizenship. Based on a literature review, this work analyzes issues related to the family-school relationship. The definition of family, its different compositions and its specific function are presented; the specificity of the school and the interdependence that exists between the family and this system are addressed.
