O ESPORTE PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO E A PAZ NA EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA ESCOLAR

O presente artigo explorar conceitos de como o esporte pode ser utilizado para o desenvolvimento humanoe uma construção de cultura de paz no ambiente escolar. A pesquisa, de natureza exploratória, baseia-se em referenciais teóricos de autores nacionais e internacionais e em documentos oficiais da ONU e da UNESCO, que reconhecem o esporte como um direito humano e uma ferramenta de inclusão, cidadania e transformação social. O estudo contextualiza historicamente o surgimento do movimento global “Esporte para o Desenvolvimento e a Paz” (EDP), consolidado pelas Nações Unidas como um novo movimento social capaz de contribuir para o desenvolvimento sustentável e a convivência pacífica entre os povos. Na Educação Física Escolar, o artigo evidencia que o esporte deve transcender o paradigma competitivo e excludente, sendo orientado por princípios éticos, solidários e cooperativos. A Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) é discutida como um marco orientador que reforça o papel educativo do esporte, legitimando práticas pedagógicas voltadas à inclusão, à reflexão crítica e à convivência democrática. O fair play (jogo limpo) é apresentado como eixo pedagógico essencial para a formação moral dos estudantes, estimulando atitudes de respeito, empatia, honestidade e cooperação nas práticas corporais e nas relações interpessoais. Conclui-se que o esporte, quando compreendido como fenômeno social e educativo, possui um poder transformador significativo na formação de cidadãos conscientes, participativos e comprometidos com os valores da paz e da justiça social, a Educação Física Escolar, nessa perspectiva, torna-se um espaço privilegiado para o exercício da cidadania e o desenvolvimento de competências socioemocionais que favorecem a construção de uma sociedade mais justa, solidária, honesta, empática e pacífica.

  • Abstract: The present article explores concepts of how sport can be used for human development and the construction of a culture of peace within the school environment. The research, of an exploratory nature, is based on theoretical references from both national and international authors, as well as official documents from the United Nations (UN) and UNESCO, which recognize sport 2 as a human right and a tool for inclusion, citizenship, and social transformation. The study provides a historical overview of the emergence of the global movement “Sport for Development and Peace” (SDP), consolidated by the United Nations as a new social movement capable of contributing to sustainable development and peaceful coexistence among peoples. In School Physical Education, the article highlights that sport should transcend the competitive and exclusionary paradigm, being guided instead by ethical, supportive, and cooperative principles. The National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) is discussed as a guiding framework that reinforces the educational role of sport, legitimizing pedagogical practices focused on inclusion, critical reflection, and democratic coexistence. Fair play is presented as an essential pedagogical axis for the moral formation of students, encouraging attitudes of respect, empathy, honesty, and cooperation in bodily practices and interpersonal relationships. It is concluded that sport, when understood as a social and educational phenomenon, holds significant transformative power in shaping conscious, participatory citizens committed to the values of peace and social justice. In this perspective, School Physical Education becomes a privileged space for the exercise of citizenship and the development of socio-emotional skills that foster the construction of a fairer, more supportive, honest, empathetic, and peaceful society.
