Abstract: Introduction: cancer is one of the main public health problems worldwide, especially in advanced stages, when curative treatment options become limited. In this context, palliative care emerges as a fundamental approach aimed at promoting comfort, relieving suffering, and improving patients' quality of life. Physiotherapy stands out as an essential area in this scenario, contributing to functionality maintenance and symptom control. Theoretical framework: Studies indicate that physiotherapy in oncological palliative care significantly contributes to pain reduction, fatigue management, and improvement of functional capacity. Therapeutic interventions, such as light exercises, respiratory techniques, and mobilization, promote not only physical health but also emotional well-being, autonomy, and patient dignity. Methodology: This is a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive literature review. The databases SciELO, LILACS, PubMed, and Google Scholar were consulted, selecting 18 articles published between 2015 and 2025 addressing the role of physiotherapy in the quality of life of cancer patients in palliative care. Discussion: The analysis showed that physiotherapy provides significant benefits, such as improved mobility, pain reduction, decreased fatigue, and better control of dyspnea. In addition, a positive impact on quality of life, autonomy, and emotional well-being was observed. However, challenges remain, such as limited access to physiotherapy services and the need for greater integration into palliative care teams. Final considerations: It is concluded that physiotherapy is essential in the care of cancer patients in palliative care, and should be recognized not only as a rehabilitation strategy but also as a promoter of quality of life, comfort, and humanized care. It is recommended to expand public policies and strengthen physiotherapy practice in this context.
