COMA AND ITS CAUSES AND TREATMENTS: A LITERATURE REVIEW
Every day, new patients find themselves in a state of deep unconsciousness - coma. It is therefore of the utmost importance for health professionals to have a thorough knowledge of the main causes of this pathological condition, which revolve around physical and substantial injuries that affect the brain's center of consciousness, the arousal center or the tracts that connect them. In addition, it is interesting to have a full understanding of the treatments that these patients must undergo, which can range from simple glucose replacement to neurosurgical intervention, depending mainly on the cause of the problem. So the aim of this work is to facilitate the search for information on the subject, summarizing all the pathophysiology and management of coma with information obtained from national and international bibliography.
