Abstract: The purpose of this research was to reveal the level of anxiety in university students, with the objectives of identifying sociodemographic data, identifying physiological symptoms, identifying cognitive symptoms and the degree of generalized anxiety. The methodological development of the study was located in the feasible project modality with the support of a descriptive, field study, under a non-experimental quantitative approach of a transversal type, the information was provided by 100 university students enrolled in the faculty that offers the degree in Architecture of the school modality in a public university in Mazatlán Sinaloa, validated with criteria of confirmability and replicability, the collection of quantitative data was done through the implementation of a data collection instrument divided into two parts, one collecting sociodemographic data and the other being used The Beck Anxiety Inventory consists of 21 questions. After analyzing and interpreting the information provided by the informants and the researcher for his observations, the results emerge: that 64% of the participants are male, 65% are single and 37% combine their studies with work, When analyzing the degree of generalized anxiety, 37% of the participants show moderate anxiety. This leads to the conclusion: it is essential to implement strategies to reduce the negative effects of anxiety in university students. First, psychological support services must be accessible and confidential to all students.
