• Abstract:

  This article discusses the results of a study conducted at the Teacher Training Center of the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia, UFRB, which aims to survey the actions of social movements, associations, unions, settlements, traditional communities, NGOs, and cooperatives for the preservation and protection of the environment in the 20 municipalities that make up the territory of Vale do Jiquiriçá-Ba. The survey identified 100 entities and a variety of actions aimed at protecting the territories and discussing sustainability in local development. The qualitative research was based on searches on websites, blogs, social networks, and scientific articles to map each of the municipalities and their respective actions. The objective is to provide material for studies of the Vale do Jiquriçá community, in particular the Teacher Training Center at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia.
