Abstract: This research aims to understand the process of identity formation of the population in the municipality of Anapu, in the state of Pará, based on the migration driven by policies implemented during the 1970s—especially following the opening of the Trans-Amazonian Highway—as a space for sociocultural construction and the re-signification of identity. This study aims to analyze how migratory flows and national integration policies contributed to the sociocultural constitution of Anapu, considering the territory as a space of power, adaptation, and resistance, marked by the interaction between subjects from different regions of the country. From a methodological standpoint, the research is grounded in the bibliographic analysis of authors such as Hall (2006), Canclini (2013), Sayad (1998), and Bauman (2001), among others, who discuss concepts of identity, cultural hybridism, migration, mobility, and power relations—central categories of this study. During the field research, interviews and documentary analyses were conducted, allowing for an understanding of the municipality's occupation process, its objectives within the context of National Development Plans, and its importance in the Amazonian sociocultural landscape. The final considerations point out that the municipality is the result of diverse cultural encounters, marked by the adaptation processes of the subjects and by the incorporation and re-signification of new experiences and symbols. It presents hybrid characteristics that reveal an overlap of values, worldviews, and migratory experiences linked to the history of its formation.
