MANAGEMENT OF ATRIAL FIBRILLATION: THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES AND STRATEGIES TO PREVENT THROMBOEMBOLIC EVENTS
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia linked to thromboembolic complications, such stroke. This study reviewed its epidemiology, pathophysiology, and therapeutic strategies, emphasizing the use of anticoagulants and thrombolysis. DOACs were shown to be effective for preventing thromboembolic events, while thrombolysis proved useful but limited in acute scenarios. The study concludes that technological advances and personalized approaches are crucial for improving AF management.
