La preservación del patrimonio cultural mexicano: antecedentes e instituciones
Se presenta una semblanza general sobre los orígenes de la preservación patrimonial en México desde la época colonial española y durante el periodo independentista, que culminaron con la creación del marco legal que actualmente protege al patrimonio cultural mexicano. Existe en el país un proceso extenso de carácter gubernamental y legal que hoy se hace visible al público en el registro de una parte del patrimonio mexicano en la lista del patrimonio mundial de la UNESCO. Situando al país como el más rico a nivel patrimonial en el continente americano y como séptimo a nivel mundial, lo cual ha tenido gran impacto mediático y repercusión no solo en las acciones encaminadas a la preservación, sino en el desarrollo de los pueblos a través del turismo cultural. Se enlista dicho patrimonio y su localización geográfica.

Abstract:
A general overview of the origins of heritage preservation in Mexico is presented from the Spanish colonial era and during the independence period, which lead up to the creation of the legal framework that currently protects the Mexican cultural heritage. There is an extensive governmental and legal process in the country that today is made visible to the public in the registration of part of the Mexican heritage on the UNESCO World Heritage list places the country as the richest in patrimonial level in the American continent and seventh worldwide, which has had notorious media impact and repercussion not only in actions aimed at preservation but also in the development of towns through cultural tourism. Said patrimony and its geographical location are listed, as well as an extract of the current legislation and the national organisms and institutes whose mission is the preservation of Mexican patrimony.
