Abstract:
The contribution is a case study conducted in a public elementary school in Mexico, more than two decades after the Federal Government promoted a renewed social participation in education with various regulations for basic education institutions. The research perspective in which the study was conducted is qualitative, from an ethnographic perspective. The purpose of the study was to document the way in which normative provisions are re-contextualized by social agents. The research is consistent with others that have studied school culture; it argues the need to continue documenting and recreating narratively what happens in educational institutions, taking distance from the proposals developed in other contexts, in order to build others that come closer to the life worlds of social agents.
