Abstract: Physical education is an important part of public health promotion, impacting people from childhood to old age, so this paper examines the role of physical education in four key areas: health education, health promotion, disease prevention and human development in general. Explore how PE through physical activity, sport and exercise promotes physical, mental and emotional health through the development of motor skills, teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits. In addition, this document approaches key criteria for adequate involvement of PE in public policies as a public health tool through the promotion of active lifestyles, which are essential to close health disparities and reduce the burden of non-communicable and preventable chronic diseases.
