Abstract: Pregnancy is a period marked by intense physical, emotional, and social changes, which can generate feelings of vulnerability. In this context, obstetric violence (OV) is an abusive practice that can occur during prenatal care, childbirth, and postpartum, negatively affecting maternal mental health and increasing the risk of disorders such as postpartum depression. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze, based on scientific evidence, the impacts of obstetric violence on the development of postpartum depression. This is an integrative literature review conducted in the SciELO, PubMed, and LILACS databases, with a time frame of publications between 2019 and 2025. The bibliographic search was conducted between September and October 2025. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 8 articles were selected for analysis. The main findings demonstrated that OV is associated with increased depressive symptoms, feelings of powerlessness, fear, psychological distress, and greater emotional vulnerability in the puerperal period. It is concluded that obstetric violence is a significant risk factor for postpartum depression, reinforcing the need for public policies, professional training, and humanized care practices that promote care based on respect, autonomy, and protection of women's health.
