Abstract: The article uses a descriptive design with a documentary study, where information is collected from sources such academic articles and organizations such as the UN, the WTO and the OECD, on the impact of international trade activities on the environment. It begins with a brief contextualization of the history and evolution of trade. Next, the trade factors, product and country that have enviromental repercussions are analyzed. Subsequently, the context of globalization, greenhouse gas emissions and the growth of international trade is addressed and some iniciatives and regulations of international organizations to combat climate change, under the perspective of WTO, the OECD, and the UNFCCC. Finally, the mixed approach that contemplates the qualitative and quantitative reveals that economic sectors such as agriculture, food trade, energy and services have a significant impact on enviromental degradation; highligting the most vulnerable areas and the damage generated to our planet.
