Abstract: The Family Health Residency Program is a crucial strategy for the Brazilian Unified Health System SUS, training professionals for comprehensive care and the expansion of problem- solving capacity (resolutivity). This study evaluated, using a mixed and descriptive- comparative design, the impact of inserting nursing residents on the productivity of the Family Health Strategies ESF in Espigão d’Oeste/RO, within the Legal Amazon, a context marked by regional and cultural complexities. Production data (from the e-SUS AB system) compared Period 1 (without residents) and Period 2 (with residents). The results demonstrated a 15.3% increase in the number of consultations and procedures, indicating that the residency significantly expands access and care capacity. The study reinforces the transformative role of in-service training in reducing inequities and promoting territorially contextualized care. This proves that the resident professional functions, therefore, as a catalytic agent for transformation, one that not only increases the volume of care but also enhances the quality and complexity of the care provided. Thus, it is reasonable to infer that the rise in productivity stems not only from the added work hours but also from the expanded team's greater competence in coordinating and solving more complex problemswithin Primary Health Care.
