HYDROCEPHALIA DUE TO RACEMOSA NEUROCYSTICERCOSIS: REPORT OF TWO CASES

Cysticercosis is a parasitic disease caused by the larval stage of Taenia solium (T solium), which when it reaches the Central Nervous System (CNS) generates neurocysticercosis. The clinical manifestations are varied, and can generate epileptic seizures, meningitis, hydrocephalus, among others. The diagnosis of neurocysticercosis is performed through neuroimaging (computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging) and examination of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). Currently, the first line of treatment is based on the use of anthelmintic associated with corticosteroids, and when necessary, neurosurgery.
