Abstract: The objective of this study is to analyze the impact of soft skills on the teaching-learning process of university students. Soft skills, also known as interpersonal skills, are competencies that go beyond technical and academic knowledge, such as effective communication, teamwork, problem solving and creativity. The survey technique was applied with structured questions through Microsoft forms to 150 university students, the soft skills most valued by them were identified and how these influence their academic performance was analyzed. The results revealed that soft skills are a key factor in academic success, since students who possess them tend to have better performance and adaptation to the demands of the labor market. This study highlights the importance of promoting the development of soft skills in university students, since these not only contribute to their comprehensive training, but also provide them with tools to face the challenges of the current world of work.
