GESTÃO DE RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS EM MACAPÁ: DESAFIOS E PERSPECTIVAS SUSTENTÁVEIS PARA O TRATAMENTO DO LIXO URBANO

Este artigo tem como objetivo analisar os desafios e as perspectivas sustentáveis da gestão de resíduos sólidos em Macapá - Amapá, à luz das características observadas em cidades reconhecidas como inteligentes e sustentáveis, como Curitiba/ PR. Com o presente estudo almeja-se responder a seguinte problemática: Quais os desafios e as perspectivas sustentáveis da gestão de resíduos sólidos em Macapá? E para responder a referida questão utilizou-se a metodologia qualitativa descritiva com auxílio da pesquisa bibliográfica em artigos científicos e revistas, sites oficiais e a análise crítica comparativa, com dados sobre Macapá, com foco em dois dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável: ODS 11 (Cidades e Comunidades Sustentáveis) e ODS 12 (Consumo e Produção Sustentáveis). Os resultados revelam desafios estruturais e sociais no tratamento do lixo urbano em Macapá e as considerações finais sugerem possíveis caminhos para tornar a cidade mais sustentável, como a modernização da infraestrutura de coleta e o aumento da conscientização da população.

  • Abstract: This article aims to analyze the challenges and sustainable perspectives of solid waste management in Macapá, Amapá, in light of the characteristics observed in cities recognized as smart and sustainable, such as Curitiba, Paraná. The study seeks to address the following research question: What are the challenges and sustainable perspectives of solid waste management in Macapá? To answer this question, a descriptive qualitative methodology was employed, supported by bibliographic research in scientific articles, magazines, official websites, and critical comparative analysis, focusing on data from Macapá and two Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production). The results reveal structural and social challenges in urban waste treatment in Macapá, and the final considerations suggest possible pathways to make the city more sustainable, such as modernizing collection infrastructure and increasing public awareness.
