• Abstract: The Unique Health System (SUS) is composed of all actions and health services provided from federal public institutions, state and municipal. It should be noted that pharmaceutical assistance is part of the same. It was defined by the National Medicines Policy (PNM) as a group of actions involved with the medicament, targeted to support community needs with the health services, aiming at the patient and community relationship within the scope of health promotion. As a result, this article has the purpose to evaluate if the whether Pharmaceutical Assistance expenditures are in accordance with the planning instruments in the municipalities of the VI regional health in the period of 2018. It is a quantitative research of a descriptive and transversal nature. More than 50% of the municipalities didn´t present budgets in their health programs, 20% didn´t set goals and actions in their municipal health plans and several parts of the Information System for the Public Budgets in Health (SIOPS) didn´t contain expenditure data. There is also a weakness in the use of planning and monitoring instruments, where we realize that there is no interlink between them, which are highly necessary for health management.
